The Jet Set: Summer Holiday Essentials

Five years ago - before there was even a whisper of the dreaded Covid in the air - my lovely mother and I took ourselves off to dreamy Pollenca for a girls' holiday at the start of the summer in 2018. I can honestly say it's the most sleep I've had since having kids; I came back a new woman and looking at least ten years younger. Five nights without a snoring husband and wriggling toddlers in bed with me was utter BLISS.

So, Mum and I are heading off to Mallorca again this July and I've already been mentally compiling all of the billions of lists needed to plan/travel/survive. If there's one thing that 40 year old Sarah does differently to 20 something Sarah, it's packing; I'm just far too long in the tooth these days to be dragging around twenty maxi dresses and fifteen spangly bikinis. Oh no, dear reader; I am ALL about comfortable travel and the capsule boho wardrobe!

(If my twenty something self could hear me now she would promptly throw a fit and declare 'boho capsule wardrobes' to be for complete morons. How times have changed...)

It did get me thinking about 'easy-going travel' though, and how to make the most of the peace and quiet whilst also looking the part at check in. What I do know for sure is that our best-selling quilted weekend bags are utter perfection when it comes to airport chic; they're gorgeously pretty but also wildly practical. I promise you that we have worked long and hard to make them as hard-working as possible for you, which is why we boast that they are 'slowly handmade for busy living'.

If someone asked me why our boho quilted weekend bags are SO spesh, I would say that it's ALL in the detail: scallop pockets, a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap, external end pockets (honestly, you'll thank me!) and the most gorgeous contrast lining and piping, because we all deserve to feel a bit fancy.

Bags must NOT be boring!

Even better, our block print neon chevron bags are the brightest hues humanly possible and they have been our stand-out best seller so far this year. Join the pre-order list now if you want yours in time for summer.

Must Have Beauty Buys:

I'm a total sucker for beauty products and, every summer, I convince myself that I need a whole raft of new, exciting lotions and potions to get me through the tropical conditions in the UK. 🤣 Things I can't live without though are:

Admittedly not the lightest product for the summer, but the coverage is exceptional and SPF spot on too. The illuminating version is really glowy.
IT COSMETICS CC+ Cream Illumination with SPF 50+ (Medium) : Amazon.co.uk: Beauty
These powders are total geniuous and have the BEST finish; you won't need anything else in your makeup bag, I promise.

Kitsch shampoo & conditioner bars are great for travel; they take up much less room and the reviews are amazing. I can't wait to try mine.

Don't forget a Bombaby headband! The bright neon colours are such fun and being able to keep your hair off your face in sweltering conditions is always a must. Boho-tastic in every way.
Things that might make your life a little easier when travelling?
A lightweight boho block print blanket not only looks good, but it keeps you cosy when that plane air con kicks in.
Waterproof-lined block print washbags for spillage-proof travel. They're also super roomy meaning that you can take everything in one place.
Personally, I'll be taking a neck pillow with me on the plane (how ancient am I?) and a decent stack of books (yes - I'll be able to actually read in peace), along with my favourite tablet - the Remarkable 2 - for scribbles and ideas on the go. It's a great bit of kit and really does replace the need for millions of notebooks, thus making easy-peasy travel perfectly possible.
